The UC Irvine Army ROTC program had an eventful and rigorous training schedule throughout the month of November to finish the Fall Quarter. Anteater Detachment focused on developing the skills and leadership qualities of its Cadets through training sessions designed to prepare them for various scenarios they may face during Cadet Summer Training (CST).
Throughout the month, Cadets participated in specialized training with the Special Teams, which included how to search an Enemy Prisoner of War (EPW), aid and litter procedures, and mastering hand and arm signals. These exercises are crucial for ensuring that Cadets can effectively secure an objective and treat casualties.

In addition to special teams training, Cadets engaged in preliminary marksmanship instruction (PMI), where they learned the fundamentals of marksmanship and honed their skills. Cadets also received a block of instruction on the M4, a weapon system Anteaters will become familiar with during CST. This training is essential for building confidence and proficiency with firearms.
Anteater Detachment also conducted intensive sessions on battle drills, focusing on squad attack and squad reconnaissance. These drills are vital for teaching Cadets how to operate cohesively as a unit, strategize effectively, and execute missions with precision.

As the fall quarter came to a close, the UC Irvine Army ROTC celebrated with a festive Christmas party, bringing together Cadets and cadre to enjoy the holiday spirit. The quarter concluded with a special Branch Reveal Beach PT event, where Cadets discovered their future Army branches. Notably, CDTHetherton and CDT Yedilova were assigned to Field Artillery, and CDT Aquila de Arajo received an Ordnance branch assignment. All three senior Anteater Cadets will serve as Active Duty Officers upon commissioning.
The November training sessions not only enhanced the Cadets’ tactical skills but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and anticipation for their future roles in the Army. The UC Irvine Army ROTC continues to prepare its Cadets to become capable and confident leaders, ready to serve their country with distinction.
