If you are very interested in enrolling, we have an online application that can determine your potential eligibility to join our program and compete for a scholarship. We will give you immediate feedback on your potential eligibility or refer you to other commissioning sources.


Scholarship Information

Serving your country as an Army Officer is an honor and a privilege. Don’t let paying for college get in the way.
UC Irvine Army ROTC has 2, 3, and 4-year full-tuition scholarships available for qualified students. Each scholarship also includes a $1,200 per year book allowance and a monthly stipend (allowance) of $420 a month.
Don’t need to pay tuition? A scholarship can be used for Room and Board instead – up to $12,000/year!

*Note: Scholarship pays Full Tuition – for in-state or out-of-state.

NATIONAL ARMY ROTC Scholarships are designed to allow interested High School Seniors and High School Graduates (who have not started college) to apply and compete for a Scholarship to attend college while participating in Army ROTC Classes as a Cadet. GREEN TO GOLD (G2G) Scholarships are available for qualified Active Duty enlisted Soldiers. These scholarships allow you to attend college full-time while working to become an Officer. Ask the Enrollment and Scholarship Officers for more information, or check out the Army’s Green to Gold website.

GUARANTEED RESERVE FORCES DUTY (GRFD) Scholarships are available for qualified Cadets and prospective Cadets who choose to commission and serve into the Army National Guard or Army Reserves. GRFD is available in 2- and 3-year scholarships. Recipients must participate in the Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP) with their chosen component (National Guard or Reserves). MINUTEMAN (MM) Scholarships are GRFD scholarships for qualified non-contracted applicants who choose to commission and serve into the Army National Guard or Army Reserves. MM scholarships require a nomination letter and are available in 2-, 3-, or 4-year scholarship awards. Recipients must participate in the Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP) with their chosen component (National Guard or Reserves). Scholarship Requirements

To be accepted for any ROTC Scholarship, you must meet these standards:

  • Be a U.S. citizen
  • Be at least 17, and under 31 in year of commissioning
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Have a high school GPA of at least 2.50, unweighted if you’re in high school while applying
  • Have taken the SAT or ACT
  • Meet the physical weight and height requirements
  • Agree to accept a commission and serve in the Army, Army Reserve, or Army National Guard
